    Ballarat City Council Compromise (August, 2010)

    One source, who had specific details about the security scare, said a teenager from regional Victoria had gained access to the system.

    ''Essentially the level of access that's available is complete and unrestricted access to all their files,'' the source said. Council staff detected the security breach on Monday after a resident came forward with claims the system had been hacked.

    Pinewood Lodge Incident (August, 2010)

    Schiavini connected to the wireless internet at the Pinewood Lodge, where he then entered into the lodge's reservation database.

    He left a note on the database so there would be proof he had broken into the system and to let the owner know what he had done, the court was told.

    Police called over pizza hack (August, 2010)

    The personal details of several Kiwi celebrities have been released by hackers as proof they have cracked Hell Pizza's customer database.
    Hell Pizza reported the breach to police after Risky.Biz provided it with some database excerpts it could verify.

    Cyber Crime Centre catches Lower Hutt hacker (June, 2010)

    A former information technology employee of a Lower Hutt sauce and condiment manufacturer has been fined more than $8000 after hacking into the firm's network and accessing private emails.

    The case is the National Cyber Crime Centre's first prosecution and conviction.

    Geraint Jones, an IT systems engineer, was employed to build an IT network for Groenz, formerly French Maid Foods.

    Victorian councils, libraries taught security in hack (May, 2010)

    A hacker has busted the security of eight Victorian Government websites in a string of minor attacks on Sunday.

    Purportedly hailing from an Indonesian hacking group, the hacker made unobtrusive defacements by inserting a text document into the homepages of six local council sites and two libraries.
